Primary school – January 2022

The Challenge

In September 2021, we were approached by a local authority looking to improve their carbon footprint and reduce their rising electricity costs. In line with this green agenda, they were looking to install solar PV panels on a number of council buildings, including a local primary school. Our challenge was not simply to source the right solution, but to install it within term time, in a busy school environment.

Our Solution

Having discussed the client’s full requirements, visited the premises and assessed the school’s electricity use, we identified the optimal solar PV solution. This included a 22kW PV system with an AC Couple battery, which would allow the school to both generate and store its own energy. As with every Aztec Solar Energy project, client satisfaction was a priority. During our initial consultation, we conducted a site survey to pinpoint the best location for the panels, and identify routes that were both safe for the installers and minimally disruptive to the school’s day-to-day operations.

“The full system was up and running by the first bell on Monday morning…amazing stuff.”
