Aztec Solar Energy was approached by a thriving contemporary art studio located in central London to design and install a technically ambitious and visually stunning 53.94 kWp solar PV installation on their steeply curved roof. The objective was to maximise the solar generation by utilising as much roof space as possible, whilst delivering an aesthetically integrated system keeping with the creative ethos of the client’s business.
Our client had a keen interest in increasing their sustainability program and reducing their carbon footprint. Like many businesses, the most cost-effective way to do this is through a solar PV system.
The complexity of the building’s architecture and the structural challenge of the standing seam curved roof presented challenges for Aztec Solar’s design and install teams. As the studio is situated in a busy central London location, it was imperative that our team worked safely and efficiently to complete the project as swiftly as possible.
Our Contracts Manager, Nick Jones, led the site team with exceptional diligence and foresight, ensuring all works were completed within a tight two-week schedule and without incident.
Our client was looking to maximise their return of investment and install the most suitable system for their studio. We installed 124 Longi 435W Hi-Mo x6 Explorer panels, 2 SolarEdge 25kW inverters along with 124 SolarEdge s500 optimisers, mounted on a Renusol curved standing seam system.
Opting for SolarEdge technology was important for this project, allowing for additional safety features and module-level optimisation to reap the maximum benefits of the PV system.
The system is expected to produce 42.97 MWh of energy per annum, saving an estimated 8.31 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
