Chilled Distribution Centre, Derby

Aztec Solar Energy was approached by large food wholesale company to design and install a 214.43 kWp solar PV installation on the roof of their chilled distribution centre based in Derby. As part of our client’s mission to reduce their carbon footprint from their business operations and boost their energy savings, the natural next step for the business was to invest in sustainable energy. Adding solar PV to properties can have multiple benefits, including improving the EPC and decreasing energy costs.

Project Overview

Having a keen interest in increasing their sustainability program and utilising as much of their roof space as possible for the new PV system, we designed a system that would significantly improve their energy savings.

System Details

Our client was looking to maximise their return of investment and install the most suitable system for their business. We installed 523 Longi HI-MO5 all black panels, offering over 22% efficiency in addition to a 25-year product and output warranty. Opting for SolarEdge inverters, we installed a 100kW inverter and a 66.6kW inverter, enabling module level optimisation and management, as well as offering additional fire safety features.

Results

The system is expected to save 40.76 tonnes of carbon per annum, equivalent to planting 1,872 trees.
