Our client for this project is one of the largest logistics companies who provide mail delivery and courier services worldwide. As part of their push for net zero operations across their business, Aztec Solar Energy was approached to assist with the solar PV installation at one of their delivery and logistics hubs based in Coventry, Warwickshire.
This logistics company has a huge number of delivery and driver hubs located globally, so naturally they have a mission to become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint. Like many businesses, the most cost-effective way to do this is through a solar PV system. There were several variations to their order that the client asked for during the install process, so in order to minimise the risk of disrupting the day-to-day operations of the business, Aztec Solar worked swiftly on each design change as well as its implementation.
Our client was looking to maximise their return on investment, so we designed a 1.2MWp solar PV system for the roofs of their logistics hub and drivers depot. We installed 11 Solis inverters with 3,118 Longi HI-MO4 all black panels across the 2 roofs. The Longi panels offer over 22% efficiency in addition to a 25-year product and output warranty.
The system is expected to save 544,000kg of carbon per annum, which equates to around 3,257 full grown mature trees.
Due to the high consumption of electricity onsite, this project is expected to pay back within 3 years.
