Aztec Solar Energy was approached by Foundation Matters, a Christian charity, to install a solar PV system on the rooftop of a building at their campground, Pine Lake, in Barrow-on-Trent. Our client was seeking an affordable solution to reduce their energy costs in order to keep costs as low as possible for their clients.
Our client had a keen interest in increasing their sustainability program and reducing their energy outgoings. Like many businesses, the most cost-effective way to do this is through a solar PV system.
We liaised with our client to design and install the most suitable solar PV system for their requirements. In just under 3 weeks, our team installed a 76.32 kWp solar PV system, including a battery energy storage system. The camp was open at the time of the installation so our team took extra health and safety precautions and care to ensure they kept themselves, the client, and the public safe.
We installed a total of 144 Longi 530W solar panels, offering over 22% efficiency in addition to a 25-year product and output warranty.
Opting for Fox ESS H3 Pro 30kW 3ph hybrid inverters, we paired these with a Fox battery system to increase our client’s energy self-sufficiency. There was also a requirement to install an AI Link G100 device to limit export.
The system is expected to generate 68,807 kWh per annum, equivalent to saving 9,177 kg of carbon emissions each year.
Now with this PV and BESS system installed, our client’s campground has 76.2% energy self-sufficiency.
